Unlocking the Door to Your Intuition

Intuition

Intuition is not magic, voodoo, or some mystical phenomenon. It’s something that we all have within us. But, it must be nurtured if it is to work at it’s highest level. Fortunately, there are techniques that can invoke your intuition faster.

I have fashioned a system, or formula, that will allow you to fully activate your intuition at will. This formula is how brand new ideas, thoughts, inventions, methods, and techniques have been created throughout the ages, yet it is unknown to most.

Most of us unknowingly use this formula, out of necessity, only when we’re faced with a problem that brings with it a burning desire to find its solution. This could be a life or death situation, or a situation where the idea of failure is simply not an option.

In those instances, we instinctively apply the formula and allow our subconscious minds and intuition to go to work.

Think back to a time when you became obsessed with solving a problem. Maybe you needed to come up with a certain amount of money. Maybe you needed to invent a nonexistent widget to fix something or to make a task more efficient. Or, perhaps you needed to find the perfect words to explain something to someone.

You probably thought about it, with full-force, for a day or two. Then all of a sudden, when you least expected it, the answer magically appeared in your mind. What if you could make that process happen every time? Well, guess what? You can.

Introducing the DOOR System for Unlocking Intuition

The formula to unlock the door to your intuition uses the acronym D.O.O.R. The letters stand for Define, Obsess, Overwhelm, and Relax. These are the same steps that you inevitably take when you activate your intuition by instinct.

Knowing that it’s also possible to trigger your intuition whenever you need it, will provide you with a level of power that few possess. Even while you’re asleep, your subconscious mind will be finding ways to move you closer towards achieving your goals.

It’s like having passive income for your mind. These ideas will then be revealed to you through your intuition. Let’s take a closer look at the DOOR formula.

Whenever you need an answer to a specific problem or question, or if you just need some inspiration, all you have to do is follow these steps:

D. Define the problem

First, you must decide exactly what it is that you’re trying to solve. Do you need an invention that will solve a certain problem? Are you trying to connect with a certain person, but don’t know how? Do you need to find a way to fund an endeavor? It can be anything at all, really. Just make sure it’s something that applies to what you’re ultimately trying to accomplish.

O. Obsess over the problem

The next step is to put your conscious mind to work. You’ll want to look at this problem from every possible angle. Try, as hard as you can, to solve the problem on your own. Study it. Look it up online. Read about it. Ask others for help about, etc. Do this until you feel that you’ve exhausted all possibilities. You never know, you might just solve the problem without having to rely on intuition, but if not, move on to the next step.

O. Overwhelm your mind

After you’ve gathered a boatload of information about your problem, you’ll want to spend some time thinking and meditating on it. You’ll want to think about it so much, that you finally reach a point of mental exhaustion. How long this takes can vary from person to person and also from problem to problem. It could be an hour or it could be two days. Just allow it to consume your mind until you just can’t think about it anymore. Then move on to the final step.

R. Relax & Allow Your Intuition to Take Over

Stop thinking about the problem altogether, and just allow your mind to flow freely. I personally prefer to do this final step, right before I fall asleep at night. I’ll actually stay in the Overwhelm stage while lying in bed, but as soon as I feel myself drifting off to sleep, I let go of the problem and let my mind wander freely.

What you’ve done with this process, is focus all of your conscious energy on solving your problem. That extreme amount of focus was preparing your subconscious mind to take over. It won’t take over completely until you’re willing to let go of the problem consciously.

I know that this sounds counterintuitive, but think back to a time when you were trying to remember someone’s name, but just couldn’t. The name never “pops” into your mind while you’re trying to think of it. It happens when you stop thinking about it. So, just allow your subconscious to take control and soon it will provide you with your answer.

Now’s the time to stop trying and just let it happen

Go to sleep, get some exercise, read a book, or focus something else for a while. Do anything BUT think about your problem and allow your subconscious mind to take over.

Once your subconscious mind obtains the answer from the universe, or wherever else it gets it from, it will present it to you. It may come to you in a dream, or while you’re awake.

You might look at a painting that you’ve seen a thousand times, and suddenly it will give you the perfect idea to solve your problem. Your message can come from anywhere, and in any form. Your job is to be aware when it happens, and also to take action on it.

You must take action on your intuition or risk losing it

If you don’t take immediate action, the idea might disappear from your mind forever. If you do take action on the information, your conscious and subconscious minds will be working in harmony together.

The more they’re working in harmony, the better you’ll become at using the D.O.O.R. System. Eventually, you’ll find yourself feeling as though you have a secret super-power.

Write it Down!

Many of the most useful and powerful ideas will come to you while you sleep. They may come in dreams, or you might just wake up with a brand new thought.

My advice for you is to always keep a pad of paper and a pencil next to your bed. As soon as you have a creative idea, write it down immediately.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve made the mistake of not immediately writing down a thought that came to me in a dream. I woke up, and thought, “Wow, that’s a great idea! I’d better write that down in the morning.” Then I’d fall back asleep and guess what? Yup, it was never to be remembered again.

Please don’t do that. Write it down as soon as you think of it. If you don’t want to use a pad of paper and a pencil, just quickly type something into your cell phone, or leave yourself a short voice memo. In fact, voice memos are my go-to if an idea comes while I’m not sleeping.

How powerful your intuition becomes will depend largely on your willingness to take immediate action on it, or your speed of implementation. Your intuition will show you the way, but it then becomes your conscious responsibility to see it through. It’s as though intuition is the supplier of the map that will lead you to your grandest treasure.

Working the Plan

Having the map isn’t the same as having the treasure. In order to reach the treasure, you must be willing to travel the course of the map, and that is a conscious action.

With practice, your conscious mind, subconscious mind, and intuition will work flawlessly together, creating a harmonious symphony that I call the leadership mentality.

Consciously activating your subconscious mind, in order to call upon your intuition, will become second-nature with practice. You will have the ability to tap into an infinite source of knowledge, ideas, and creativity, at will.

Those who practice this will understand what ancient writers meant when they wrote of things like Zen, enlightenment, or universal harmony. You will be able to utilize your mind to its fullest potential and have the ability to conquer the destiny of your dreams.
